About Kyung-Hee Kathy Lee
Pianist, Kyung-Hee Kathy Lee began her professional career in high school when she performed with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra in 1971. She was the first prize winner of many piano competitions throughout Korea. Mrs. Lee received her Bachelor’s Degree with honors from Seoul National University. She received a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Ohio State University, where she also held a teaching assistantship; she was elected to the National Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda while at Ohio State. Her primary teachers were Professors Jin-Woo Chung, Jung-Kyu Kim, Ja-Hyang Lim, and Sylvia Zaremba. She has participated in numerous master classes and many recitals in Korea and the United States. She also has performed as soloist and collaborator in many chamber music concerts in the New York area, including the Staller Center at Stony Brook, and solo and duo concerts at the Bayport-Bluepoint Library in 2001. In November 2006, she gave a duo concert at the Bellport United Methodist church, chamber music concerts at the Patchogue Congregational Church in March 2007, and at the Bellport United Methodist Church in September 2008. Other recent performances include a trio concert at the Bayport-Bluepoint Library, the Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church in Sayville, and the Music Club of Douglaston in 2009. Most recently, she performed in a chamber music concert at the Sachem Public Library. She has been performing at the annual Music Performers Club concert since 1991. In addition to being a soloist, she is also an experienced and sought after accompanist. She maintains a teaching studio in Stony Brook, New York.
